BLUNTISHAM & COLNE WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
During 2024 the Bluntisham and Colne WI have met on the first Thursday of every month at Colne Community Hall, except June when we had an outing and August when we had a Garden Party for members. Our year runs from March, when we have our Annual General Meeting and elect the Committee and President, to the following February. We have had a wide range of speakers (including ‘It’s Hell on Wheels’, tales of a driving instructor and a talk from Mee Blueberries) and some evenings where members have taken part in crafts such as origami and making fascinators, to gentle exercises and Walkeoke disco! Of course, we also have refreshments during the evening. There is a monthly Book Club, walks and lunches and we join in with activities such as quizzes and walks run by the Huntingdon and Peterborough Federation of WIs. New members are always very welcome, so ladies do come along to a meeting and see if you would like to join us – a friendly and supportive group of different ages.
